Choosing a right toilet seat for you home

Do you know apart from toilet, you can also called it a water closet or commodes ? Water closets is quite common but I never know about commodes. Pardon my ignorance. Do you know how many types of toilet seats are there ? Only 2, it is either round or elongated. So it is not difficult at all to choose a toilet seat for your home. If you choose a round one, you will save some room. Elongated seats is 2 inch longer and is in oval shape. Apart from the sizes, the other key point to choosing a toilet seat is whether you want a one-piece toilet seat or 2-pieces toilet seat. If cost is not a concern, I personally will prefer a one-piece toilet seat as it is easier to clean and I don't have to worry about the potential leakage between the tank and the bowl. It looks more stylish too.
Over the years, toilet has evolved from a hole to a squatting toilet and now sitting toilet and there are even Heated Toilet Seats. I really appreciate this especially when it was really cold, you just don't feel like putting your bum on a icy cold toilet seat.

A Home in Balinese style

I always like the Balinese style home deco. Be it a Buddha statue , a mini water fountain, it just gives me the serenity feel. Nowadays, most people have chosen Balinese style as their theme in designing their home. Whenever I step into this sort of home, immediately, I will feel myself in a resort somewhere out of the town. For city dwellers, it really help in balancing the stressful lives.
To match the Balinese home style, furniture made of teak wood is a perfect fit. Teak is a dense, coarse, close-grained hardwood. It contains high levels of resinous oils that allow it to be naturally resistant to moisture, repellent to insects, and impervious to the drying effects of weather. It is simple, natural, and it is very easy to maintain.
I know some would say, wasn't teak wood out of the fashion already ? I had the same impression too when I first heard of teak wood furniture. But I was wrong. When I browse through some of the Teak Accessories, this one really caught my eyes. This is a Teak Folding Bar. Don't you think it is cool ? If I ever have a chance to re-design a new home, teak wood furniture will be my choice.

Singapore Orchid Garden

Apart from searching for good food, my other interest is to find scenic places for photo shooting. The weather in Singapore has been terribly hot and humid. We decided to find some greeneries and since we have not used our camera for quite some time, we went to Orchid Garden in Mandai.Admission fee is SGD 3.50 per adult and SGD 1.00 for Children. Quite disappointed as the varieties of Orchid there is not much as compared to what we see in Orchid Percint Putrajaya last year, but still managed to take some good shots on the orchids.

Gurney Drive in The Gardens

Gurney Drive has duplicated its entry in the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. After hearing so many good words from the my fellow blogger friends, we have made our very first date after our sweet heart was born.
We were a bit surprise to find that it was actually located at the 3rd floor where there was no other neighbouring food outlet and it does not resemble Gurney Drive in Penang at all. Guess the name Gurney Drive is only to indicate the food origins.

The ambience was quite relax anyway. Not crowded with people and the decoration was very oriental with a row of bamboo plants at the side and a old-time bicycle at the front door.

We order a plate of Char Keow Teoy, A plate of Lo Bak and
hubby ordered his all time favourite Air kacang and I ordered a cup of local hainanese coffee.( By the way the cup of kopi was way too big until it looks more like a bowl of coffee.)

The Char Keow Teoy was really tasty, it was served piping hot and the Lo Bak was ok only. Hubby did not comment about the air kacang, but I find it too sweet for me.

We were given a complimentary dessert of local delight after our meal..

Overall we are quite satisfied with the food and the service and yes, we will come again, soon !

Branding

Do you believe in branding? Marketing alone is not enough for pushing sales or even sustaining a business in today's world. If you noticed, most of the big brands today do not only marketing their products, but they spend millions of dollars just to build their brands. A strong brand pulls not only promise returns but returns for many years to come because their customers have become their loyal customers. A strong brand build not just business but confidence and belief.
How to judge the success of building a strong brand. I personally feel that if a person even a kid know how to associate a product with a brand, it is already proven that the brand has already half way to success. Just a simple example, my nephew will always associate Fried Chicken with KFC, French Fries with Mc Donald's. Should i need to say more ?
Branding in travel industries is even more prominent nowadays ! A frequent traveler need no one to tell him/ her which hotel to choose or which airlines to travel with. So long as he knew what is his budget and expectation, the travel agent can get him the package just a click away ! As for me , I will always travel with SIA and stay in Shangri-La Hotel if I want a good holiday break. What about you ?

Dessert @ Vivo City

After a long journey to Singapore, we finally settled down and managed to spend some time at Vivo City. At least something new apart from Orchard Road. We went to this dessert shop which sells Hong Kong style dessert and made 3 orders, one "Ice Kacang", one "Tong Sui" and a "Chu Cheong Fun".
All three tasted great. Love the "Chu Cheong Fun" most for the sauce is quite special, it was a mix of peanut sauce and sweet sauce.
The "ice kacang" is a bit unique in the sense that it is not so sweet. Although it resembled the ice kacang in Malaysia, it does not add in any evaporated milk, it was coconut milk instead.

Thai Restaurant @ Suntec City

As I mentioned before, Thai cuisine is my all time favourite. Since I have been craving for Tom Yam for so long, we decided to go for Thai food.
Located on the top floor, we were attracted by the name "Tuk-tuk". Tuk-tuk is one of the vehicle in Thailand which is like a taxi but looks more like a motorbike. Because of the heavy traffic in Thailand, this type of taxi will bring you to your destination faster.
We ordered our favourite dishes : Pineapple fried rice, Tom Yam, Pandan Chicken and Fried Kailan. All the dishes are so yummy especially the pineapple fired rice. A bit disappointed with the Tom Yam, it was too hot until it burned my lips. All are authentic Thai food. Overall the service is good and minus the Tom Yam, I will rate this restaurant a good one and yes we will come again next time.
